Welcome - What is the AABC?

Welcome to the Register of Architects Accredited in Building Conservation (AABC).  The AABC is a not-for-profit accreditation body that maintains a register of Architects skilled and experienced in the repair, maintenance and adaptation of historic buildings.

The AABC exists for the benefit of both clients and historic buildings.  Through rigorous assessment by peers and client-focused lay assessors, only architects with appropriate expertise in conservation and adaptation are admitted to our register, thereby protecting the historic built environment.

We believe in making the safeguarding of our architectural legacy accessible to all, so we offer free access to view our register. Our self-financed model guarantees sustainability, with applicant fees directly supporting administrative expenses like website maintenance and assessments.

Join us in our mission to promote the highest standards of specialist skills in the conservation of the historic built environment.
