Experience:
Left school at the age of 16 in 1983 to work and study as an Architectural Technician for a Kettering Architect. He then worked for a Leicester based firm for 3 years. Whilst there he was encouraged to develop his interest in working with historic buildings and churches. In 1989 he joined Stimpson Walton Bond (SWB)to work with Maurice Walton and Alf Bond on their competition winning design for the Northampton Guildhall extension. Whilst working with SWB, Adrian also qualified as an Architect. In 1995 he became an Associate Partner and in 2001 a Full Partner. He now owns the firm which has as team of five staff.
He currently acts as Church Architect for over 170 churches many of which are Grade 1 listed buildings. In 2014 he was appointed Architectural Advisor on the Peterborough DAC. The scope of church/historic work undertaken includes quinquennial reports, extensions, conversions, repairs, advice, preparing schedules of work, specifications, drawings, design interventions and adaptations. Apart from churches other historic projects have been undertaken at Delapre Abbey, Abington Museum and Rockingham Castle to name a few He is also leads the more contemporary work for residential buildings, sports facilities, education and commercial buildings including a mental health hospital. In 2024 Stimpson Walton Bond is celebrating its 60th year.
