Jason KaHo Lai

Jason KaHo Lai is a Chartered Architect and Associate at Donald Insall Associates with extensive experience in repair and conservation of listed and historic buildings. He joined the practice in 2011 to pursue his commitment to the long-term care of heritage assets and has since contributed to safeguarding major cultural landmarks, including the Palace of Westminster (Grade I), the British Museum (Grade I), and the Temperate House at the Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew (Grade I).

His recent and ongoing work includes significant Grade I commissions such as Hatfield House, Osborne House, The Grange at Northington, and the Waltham Abbey Royal Gunpowder Mills. Jason’s portfolio also encompasses substantial conservation and adaptation projects across central London, including the repair, restoration and sensitive alteration of historic commercial buildings along Regent Street, Piccadilly Circus and Bishopsgate.

He excels in building pathology, fabric analysis, and the integration of new architectural elements within historic contexts, bringing strong technical judgment and a collaborative approach to complex, multi-stakeholder projects.
